Keeping children safe

A child's welfare comes before everything else. Here is who is responsible, how we look after children, and where to read our policies in full.

Safe, cared for and protected

Keeping children safe is the most important thing we do. Our safeguarding policy sets out how every member of staff, and every volunteer, student and visitor, is expected to protect children and promote their welfare.

We want children to feel secure, cared for and nurtured here. Their wellbeing always comes first.

Who is responsible

All safeguarding concerns must be reported immediately to one of our safeguarding leads, who make sure appropriate action is taken in line with statutory guidance and local safeguarding procedures.

How we look after children day to day

Collection

Children only leave with people you have named. We use a password system, and staff will not let a child leave if the correct procedure has not been followed.

Photographs

We take and use photographs and video of children only with your written consent, and names are never attached to photos that are displayed.

Trips out

Trips outside the nursery, for example to the library or the park, need your consent.

Concerns

If you are worried about a child, or about anything you have seen, please speak to a safeguarding lead straight away.

School Policies

Our safeguarding, behaviour and complaints policies are published in full, exactly as issued.

Questions about safety?

Ask us anything. We would rather you felt sure than wondered.
